My role lies somewhere between that of a life coach and a psychologist. The objective is to work on relatively deep difficulties by relating them to everyday reality. For example, seeking to understand a trauma could be done by strictly analyzing theoretical conceptualizations. However, an approach that combines pure theory with the client's lived experiences leads to better results because everyday life is a treasure trove of useful information stemming from our actions, emotions, and lifestyle.
Unlike a traditional psychologist, I have the ability to provide sound and direct advice if necessary or if the client requests it, without having to push them to find answers on their own and using our available time for that purpose.
Unlike a life coach, I would never risk pushing a client out of their comfort zone prematurely. Communication remains the key to productive sessions and progress over the medium to long term. Quick and positive results are not uncommon, but they come from regular, structured, and effective work rather than hasty and daring efforts.
We cannot move forward in life without addressing certain problems at their source, but we also do not make progress when we obsessively dwell on them without taking concrete and effective actions. This idea is truly at the core of the services I offer.
